Default DM question on networking - for the pros!

Hi all,

I have recently put Darkstar II on my 7020 (CF Card) and have since noticed that when using my computer the dreambox is now not listed under network? I can ping the DB and all is working fine from the DB (i.e. I can DL additions/keys)

I noticed this when I went to do a back up of my movies from the HDD as I have set up syncback ( 2BrightSparks | Downloads )to copy contents to my WHS, when I click run it cannot see the DM's HDD as it's not on the network any more.

Btw I rebooted back to DS I and it still does not show up or even in enigma (the original image on the DM with the CF card out)

Any ideas guys????

Are you using DHCP?

My Dreambox has never shown up on my router as it uses a static IP address.

If i set it to use DHCP then it shows up, the only trouble i have then is that everytime Iu reboot the Dreambox it gives it one of 3 diffferent IP addresses which is why i now use a static IP address.

Have a look in the communications menu and try ticking and unticking DHCP.

Menu-> 6 -> 6 -> Communications setup

See pic below.

Hi Nano,

Many thanks for the quick reply

I do not use DHCP as I have a fixed IP for the DM from the router, funny thing is this was working before?

Have switched on and off DHCP with no difference, not sure what is going on!

It used to be listed in network devices and allowed me direct access to the HDD but it's now missing.

Btw I notice from the screen grab your nameserver is the same as your gateway? is this correct as ny nameserver is set to my DNS? but works OK.

When you changed your image, did you change the dreambox password from what it was on the previous image? A new image will have the password 'dreambox' by default.

No password change from me and I can still connect via flashwizard pro with default password as before?

I always put it onto DHCP first and let it find the info itself. I then turn off DHCP and set the ip myself leaving the rest as DHCP set it up
