Default Slowly disappearing FTA channels

Hi All

Technomate 7755.

My problem is that channels are periiodically disappearing, never to re-appear. First it was BBC news 24, Then the film 4's etc. My attempts to get them back have been to re-scan but that has no effect at all. I'm pretty sure its not a signal problem as this is still showing as normal.

Whats the solution? (in clueless newbie language)

I was also wondering if there are any good books/magazines on the subject, as I have no idea what's the impact of selecting different TP's/LNB types and all the dozens of other things you can fiddle with!

cheers Steve

The problem with the BBC News 24, Film4, etc is that they have moved transponders recently.

The Film4 channels have moved onto the 10719 H 22000 Transponder, for the new Freesat service.

If you check out sites like _http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html

It has all the channels listed on the satellite, and on which transponder to find them.

You need to delete the changed channels from your channel list, otherwise (with some receivers anyway) the changes aren't stored during the rescan. With my FTA receiver I do this then the altered channels are stored at the end of the channel list.

Both posts very helpful, yes - the actual solution was to delete all existing channels before the rescan. Cheers
