Default Re: Spoof NIC MAC

Its NEVER a good idea to change ANY of the 1st six hex digits on any mac cos these point to the manufacturer/make+model of the NIC, the last six digits are usually just a basic serial number+should be able to be changed fine..some WAN segments+even some of our own ISP ubr's r clever enuff 2 recognise an unknown or unclassified mac with the 1st six didits messed around and will just drop the packets as they see em..windows aint also 2 clever when a NIC mac has been changed 2 much either..i always use the basic SMAC and have had no probs at all, only issue is when i try+change the wireless NIC mac on my vista lappy, things go a bit pete tong!!
