My original plan was to lose Sky+ entirely and get Virgin media and a cable box to try to receive more channels.
However, I've since found that no cable boxes can offer a good and reliable recording method compared to sky+ I have thought I could download my sky package from £22 a month, to £17 a month, and then run another satellite box to watch some other channels on, sports mainly. Any thoughts on this? |

Why would you want a Sky+ box when a DM7025 will do everything and more than it
![]() It can do everything the Sky+ receiver can do plus you can also receive stuff broadcast using other symbol rates from other satellites. The aforementioned Sky Dodgbox can only receive 22000 and 27500 and nothing else as its been nobbled by Sky ![]() You will be able to run a Skybox using the RF loopthrough on the Dreambox although you would need to switch it to standby first so it relinquishes control of the lnb to the Sky dodgybox ![]() Nano

A Dreambox DM7025 can do everything a sky+ box can then? I guess apart from series link which I don't need. Can it receive sky sports, setanta, movies, etc...? Actually scrap that. There is no point paying £17 a month for sky and then paying £300+ for a satellite box. May as well just pay the extra for Skysports. Easier, more reliable and I know what I'm getting. The Dreambox can read a S k y N D S card. You will not get anything off S k y without a subscriber card, end of story.
The encryption that S k y uses is totally secure ![]() ![]() Nano
