The clones are as good if not better than the originals

If you do buy one do not put any Gemini image on it as it will turn it into a door stop in the blink of an eye

I do know of people who have purchsed from this company with very little problems. I still wouldn't use them though just out of principle

If you want a Dreambox, you buy a Dreambox, not some cheap knock off copy

The easiest to use would be one that uses an Enigma1 based operating system like a DM500, 600, 7000 or 7020 or something like the TM9100

The TM9100 won't read an NDS card with CCcam alone unless you use an older version which most people block anyway.

If you want to play with one try and get hold of a DM7000 or DM7020 as you can mess about with an image on the USB stick without the fear of bricking the box

I have no problem giving you support if you need it mate , but like i said these boxes have an extremely steep learning curve.

Have a look at the boxes available and ask the forum members what they think of them and what are the Pros and Cons of each one

If your thinking of having a motorised dish stay away from the DM500 as it doesn't have the power to move a motor correctly

I bought a proper DM600 and it's the best bit of satellite equipment I've ever had.

I agree with Nanochickin about buying a proper one if you can afford it.

It takes time to get it up and running if you are going down the c/s route but take sometime off work and spend a good solid period of time setting it up. Most common problem is that people buy a linux box they then don't perservere with it enough to get it working and end up selling it again.

Best thing about it is that you can FTP everything to the box from your PC if your box is on a network.

Nano
that rules out the DM500s so which is easier to use a tm9100 or a dreambox7000/7020?

ok im between the DM7000/7020 or the TM9100

im looking at the DM because of the usb, because i don't have a router yet so i can play with it, maby il get a ART/digitab card instead of sharing

also im thinking bout the TM because of the price(far cheaper) but no USB(i think),also from what i read the TM has a better tuner and as i have a 80cm dish, will that be big enough to get to get all 13/19/28 channels

i will remind people that i want 1-to get FTA/ 2- to subscribe to setanta/art/digitab/ then i want the possibility of cardsharing should i decide to(might never happen but if i decide to i can)

if i cardshare i wont touch sky because i might subscribe to them later in life!

a guy i no is subscribing to a server that uncodes all chanels on 13/19 satellites
1 questian if i do card share for 13/19 channel and if that server gets busted will my name be givin to sky anyway?even tho i was not getting sky?

any thoughts anyone?

If you can afford it go for the DM7000/7020 over the TM9100

The TM doesn't have a USB slot but it does has an SD memory card reader which allows you to dual boot the unit with several different images just as you can do on the Dreambox

On the Dreambox you use Flashwizard and on the TM you use iBoot.

The TM will do the same things as the Dreambox, it just takes a bit longer to figure out and you may have to figure out different solutions to each problem.

I'm happy with mine as it does what it says on the tin, and the images are getting much better.
