Default Pace 4001

As some of you will remember about a week or two ago i had a pace 4001 that was stuck in pace and wouldnt boot, i tried warming the attys and changing the screws and CIM as suggested, but to no avail it didnt work so i slung it, now i put a second 4001 in the place of the first one in the exact same room in the exact same spot, and was running fine for the length of time between my last post and today, but now this one is doing exactly the same thing goes to pace and sticks, any ideas on this guys, could it be a power spike or the humidity as its located next to a conservatory, there is no way that two paces should die exactly the same way in the same room of the same house, when they both used to run fine. Any help getting to the bottom of this problem would be awesome as im running outta boxes

Are you sure it not a bad cable connection, like an intermitent fault, did you try them on another feed, its always best to leave these boxes on standbye as when they are getting on a bit they can get stuck in tune etc , they cant take the constant rebooting , you could be right about the humidity too if damp is getting into box, in the stuck in tune guide it has where to check the psu in a couple of places, stuck on pace could mean a lot of things but could be signal or tuner or psu fault.

im assuming the feed is ok but im not sure although they a have a box in their front room which seems to be ok, they ran fine at my house and the first one was running fine for ages then when i took over to my mates they took longer than normal to boot due to his cable being being split but they booted in the end, the first one lasted 7 days and the second one has lasted since that post up until now, and when i gave it to him i told him to leave it on and not to cut the power to it, the thing is though once they hit this pace stuck thing nothing i do makes them boot nor do they work on anyone elses signal, whatever is breaking them seems to be doing it on a permanent basis, all i can do is salvage the simm, jumper, led screen and CIM like the last one, also i dont think its psu or it wouldnt even power up would it?

I to have a pace 4001 stuck in pace when it is switched on. I can leave it unused and when i try it a few months down the line it comes on and boots ok, but soon as i unplug it then switch it back on again it fails again, and then there is no way it will boot up again so it gets put out of the way again for months. My other half wont let me leave anything powered up in standby cos she is tight and pays the electricity bill lol.

i think its wise not to leave one of these 4001 boxes powered up when not in use(Overnight ect), do you ever feel the heat that come off some of these fookers
