now i have no experiance of modifying these things hence why i purchased one with the hard work done, can anyone recommend some good reading for me to bone up?

all you got to do is change the mac, Frequency and config file, so read up on getting macs find out what Frequency you are on and then dicide what config you are going to put on,, and everything is web based 192.168.100.1

Ok, think i may have broken it already.

I received it Friday, Saturday i visited a friends VM connection and got a list of Mac's. I installed it and entered a mac, selected save and reboot - when it rebooted it has changed the addresses to macs containing DE.AD and the serial DEAD01.

the modem is a 5101e running haxorware.

frequency i entered as per a list that came from the supplier, mac i entered that i found from 3 miles up the road, config i left blank as the manual i recd from the supplier indicated that this wouldnt be needed as the mac would dictate the config.

Can anyone please advise? im totaly new to this

ah by the looks of it i am in an ex C&W area and so need to use a TFTP IP, my subbed modem is running off TFTP IP 62.31.176.116 - only trouble is i cant work out how i use this information in the haxorware ?

reading through the manual i have been sent it suggests i use the NTL-250 Configurator, but im confused as this states it is unable to open 192.168.100.1 ?
