Default eurovox and broadband

hi ive just bought an eurovox max ex1000 sl plus a splitter as i have broadband i havent got it yet but was wondering will i just plug both in and will it work straight away because i dont no much about these and i dont like to mess about and will it effect my internet signal

Hi internet should be fine you will have to scan for channels and may have to update the firmware on box to recieve them. just search this forum its been coverd many times. if stuck repost.

hello mate tou need an rs232 cable otherwise known as a null modem cable you can get it at amazon for about 3 quid,

as mentioned by martin3 you will need a null modem cable plus if your laptop hasn't got a 9 pin rs232 connection you will also need a rs232 to USB adaptor.
(much better and easier if you can get the use of a desktop with rs232 connection)

thanks ive just purchased an usb-r232 lead 2day im waiting for my eurovox to come in post with 3 way splitter .so will it just plug straight into my cable box and go from there because im no good at messing about with things thats why i joined this forum to give me a bit of help . ive also been told it mite need flashing has any 1 got a link to do so

wot would be easier to plug eurovox in 1st without splitter search for channels then hook my broadband up or doesnt it matter

more than likely it will come with only the free to air software on it
You need the v1.0 darX you can get it off the chatterbox toolbar or here _http://www.box.net/shared/tmuhectkwo#1:18161264
It doesn't really matter whether you split cable first etc, apart from if you connect directly to your feed it eliminates splitter cables etc from the equation if you have any problems.

you download it to your PC and extract the loader file, then you run this file to download the firmware to your box,
then you do a scan and you should get all the channels unscrambled
