Question Carnt decide :(

Hi everyone,

Just shot over from the cable modem section wanted to look into maybe a better box than what i have now but there seems to be allot on the market and no real A-Z faqs on them explaining basics like......"this is a XXX box it can do this and has this many series of them this is how you do this to it."

So ive basically been just going to all the sub forums and reading info there on what people are doing to boxes and which ones they seem to be buying from what i gathered the process is like this, you buy what ever box it is you want it comes with some stock freeview firmware you connect rs232 cable or that pc dual serial cable and backup that firmware then flash the box with some form of hackware that has keys to unlock channels???

Now im not sure what box to get i just want a sky+ box on VM is there any box that can do all of sky+'s features!. I was looking in the direction of (The Box Super SV4) but i see people are having problems with it because the firmeware is basic at the moment....or the eurovox PX5000 pvr. I just want a sky+ feature wise box. Thank you.

The Starview PVR is a twin tuner, so you can watch 1 channel whilst recording another, or record 2 different channels at the same time. It can't do the movies on demand as far as I can tell, or automatically record every episode of a program as you can with Sky + or Virgin XL. Mine has been very reliable, even the recording since I re-routed my cable input from a splitter into each tuner.
