Hi.
I have an official VM smartcard, but what kind of card is it? i.e is it a Titanium, Funcard etc etc? It has NagraVision printed on the back if that helps. Need to make sure I don't mess up before anything happens (dont worry not subd :P). Wish this cas3+ works like the Infinity 'USB Unlimited Programmer' where it tells you what type of card you have inserted.... unless you can somehow get cas 3+ to tell you what card you have?? Oh also for funcards what card prog would you use in cas3+? Sorry for the rubbish questions but any help would be appreciated... Thanks ![]() |

It's a ROM11 MOSC card mate. If you pur your programmer into Phoenix mode and read the card in Nagra Edit, you will get more details about it. If you want to use the card, you will need to unlock it first using an unlooper.

Cheers blakey_8 for the info on the card and thanks reddiesel for answering the rest of my qu's.
I figured going into 'smartcard->PROG' in cas studio that it can auto detect cards. But it only seems to auto detect my fun4 card. If I put in a Ti2 or mosc it always comes with an error saying: "No CPU could be detected on the inserted card. Clean the contacts on the card and make sure the contacts are facing downwards in the programmer. Remove the serial cable if connected" Card is inserted correct, serial cable isn't connected, contacts are clean and I know the cards work as I can read and write to them else where. But why it comes up with the above (except for fun4) in 'PROG' I don't know. I hope this cas3+ isn't faulty or something. On Ti2 readme tut it mentions to be in 3.58 mhz for phoenix. I take it 3.68 is for dealing with mosc cards? Reddiesel so it's 'PROG' to sort out funcards, but for a mosc card I can go to any other prog? There's like 19 small GUI windows I can choose from in the smartcard menu. I'm running the latest firmware v8.5c. Thanks again |

If you go into prog then click on options at top then click advanced you can set auto detect, if you want to read a fun click that off though as it can corrupt the card, if its off and your using a fun 4 set as prussian 2 in the bar at the top.
With a nagra type card you dont use prog, just set phoenix and use nagra edit 4.1. Yes use prog for funs and ATMegas, you need serial cable connected for nagra not for funs. Last edited by reddiesel; 20-10-08 at 03:32 AM. |

If you want to read a MOSC, you have to go into advanced options for your programmer and click on PHOENIX. Change that to 3.68MHz then read the card in Nagra Edit

Ahhh ok I get you both now, thanks.
Not messed about with mosc yet but I do have a question about the ti2 card. It's been a while since I messed about with this, and have had to try and remember how to do things again. Got the latest from chatterbox/bigmaq. No problem following the Ti2 tutorial without any errors. I know the ird and bk are correct as my fun4 card still works. With the Ti2 I keep ending up with the free ch's. I’m using the au (not tried the roll kys). I am assuming that for Ti2 it's rom10's not rom11's? To be honest I don't know what roms you should use for what cards. I'm in C&W area as well if that helps. BTW is this ti2 guide still reliable (as this is what I’m following)? As it's quite old now isn't it? No cam id required like for fun4?: "How to Program 'Titanium 2' Card: Programs/Software Required: 1. Titanium 1+2 Cardprogger (including files linked to this) 2. Nagra Edit 3. Winexplorer 4. Phoenix Programmer Step One: Make sure programmer is set to phoenix mode (3.58 mhz) and then insert titanium2 card. Step Two: Run 'Titanium 1+2 cardprogger', Identify card should come up as 'OS: 02.01 ATR: ******************' Step Three: Although not essential...do it anyway....erase card....progger will go through motions and come back as card in 'virgin'state. Step Four: Load Flash (Tit2_Nagra_emu_hex.hex) Load EEprom (Tit2_Nagra_emu_eep.eep) Load CryptKey (Tit2_Nagra_emu_CryptKey.hex) Step Five: Click on 'Program' Card will now program the card with the files selected......once this is complete close the software. Step Six: Now you must create a .bin image for your card......... Run Nagra edit and load the relevent .bin image for your area from the 'bin images' folder....insert your IRD and BK in the relevent boxes in 'data editor'.....DONOT ALTER ANY OTHER DETAILS IN IMAGE....some people find entering IRD backwards works others will find putting it in straight will work (straight = 12 ** ** **, backward= ** ** ** 12)... save the image with a name u will remember eg...my_bin_image.bin close nagra edit. Step Seven: Run Winexplorer......load script 'loadeep' (found in 'Tit2 Nagra emu' folder).....run script...when prompted load the image u have saved in previous step (eg....my_bin_image.bin).....once script has finished close all programs and remove card from programmer. Step Eight: Switch Cable STB on and wait for screen to tell you to insert card....insert card....wait approx 30-60 seconds whilst card updates and then change channel using remote..... Voila!!!!!!! u have a working AU Titanium2 Card "Though the DL for TI2 contains nagra 4.0 rather than 4.1. Thanks again for taking the time to help me out... Cheers!

You can just use tit2 setting on programmer to load the Flash, eeprom and cryptkey.
You need a rom10 image for your area, edit in details and check dates in 4.1, and save bin to desktop etc. Step 7 and 8 are right. |

I figured it would be faster and easier to use the cas3 prog to sort out the flash/ep/crypt for ti2.
Would i just need to put in ird & bk only, or fill in the details for cam id as well in nagra? Do you also put in your ird backwards or you find it works fine either way? Hmm I'm gonna have to double check my bk and ird, but I'm sure it's right otherwise my fun4 wouldn't work which it does
