Default time out on hyper terminal

tried various tools etc but keep getting timed out. what is the best settings to use to prevent this. im using 232 board to do this. have most of the different files. really need help before i smash it up

i had this problem for days & it turned out i was putting 192.168.100.10 for board ip & 192.168.100.1 for board tftp ip,something silly like that.

also it kept happening me yesterday & it turned out i needed to change ethernet cable

ive done what it says in most of the manuals and its driving me up wall now.

time outs are mostly ethernet problems try changing it and also make sure you put the right address in the right place and not mix them ie: 192.168.100.10 and 192.168.100.1

make sure any Firewall is turned off ,classic symptom of time out

thankyou will try it on day off. the ethenet cable is being used for my current virgin modem which has been done allready. so prob is firewall

ive took all security settings down yet still getting timeout so any more help. ive tried different cable aswell.

Make sure you have your network settings in windows set to the correct IP settings when you try to access the modem through hyperterminal.

The settings you want to use in hypertermnial are 115200 baud 8 N 1 flow control none.
