Hi all,
Real newbie here so please be patient. Only bought the box on Saturday. The problem I have is that I can't download the firmware onto box or upload saved chanels etc. I've tried it on 2 laptops and neither one recognises the box (or Com settings???). Tried using 9 pin to 9 pin modem cable and even gone to M*plins for USB serial converter for transfer and neither one has worked. I've read tutorials (thanks) and followed to the letter but still no joy. I've set it up on the tv, done a scan, so I know the box is working. I've downloaded wrar30 & UFL EX1000SL and they seem ok. Not sure where to go from here. After reading the forums I'm sure this will be the first of many posts. Please keep any replies reeeally simple.

Hi are you using the right cable it's a null modem cable you use it has a different pin config to a normal 9 pin modem cable. Check on fleabay many for sale also licasts on here sells them hope ive spelt it right .

Thanks for the help. The guy who sold me the box also sold the cable. They looks like the ones i've seen in the tutorials. Still looking and trying...... even borrowed another laptop.

Mate, u need to install the right drivers on ur comp! Then u need to set ur comp port to com1 under device manager...!

Im having same issue, I have ex1000 sl, in device manager i only have a com 2 port, im using the null modem cable with usb converter thingy.. and when i try using UFL_EX1000SL_v1-0_DarX and click download it goes to com2 and start appears
then if i dont click start it says no available com port, where is the software i can maybe download for my pc to recognise it??

Haha dude, i just realised, i was using only the little usb addon, i didnt realise there was another cable to attatch into the usb then back into the PC nevermind, thanks it seems to be working now

Hmm but it seems to stay at Sending 0% for a long time..

I have the same problem on the same boxm it flicks between com 1 and com 2 and the computer makes a clicking sound and doesnt find the box, it trys to do it and just says waiting for reponse from reciever and thats it! please help!!!!

Guys.

As someone has previously mentioned - if you're using a USB serial converter have you installed the correct drivers for it? I.e - you haven't just 'plugged' it in and started using it?
