I hope I'm at the right place to 'Post' this question
![]() I would be most grateful for some help on the following. We ahve recently had a new aerial array installed with dish I'm told pointing at Hotbird. That is connected to a Triax DDUnit which connects to the Triplex outlet in the lounge and then via Scart to the TV. Perfect picture and can also get Astra. So good so far! But, now want to connect the SL65 permanently into the system he told me to 'connect the output of the SL65 to the uplink on the DDU'. I have connected the uplink cable to the IF output of the SL65 - Nothing! at all! The chap who installed the aerials and DDU has 'lost interest' after I said I didn't want to buy the Sky receiver from him. So my question is will this setup work or do I need a Sky box?? |

This may help:-
http://www.aldoussystems.co.uk/acatalog/333112.pdf The SL65 ( the main receiver) should work without the uplink, the uplink is for feeding the UHF output to the other TVs in the system for them to tune into. A Sky digibox has two rf outputs, the 2nd one would feed to the uplink, and presumably would enable you to control the Sky box from one of the other rooms. The IF output of a receiver is not for connecting to an uplink, it is for connecting another receiver, eg an Analogue sat receiver.

should work, have a little think about what you are doing, I have had a SL 65 for over 4 years, a good piece of kit, but beware they like ventilation
and run hot. As for Sky boxes they are of course limited to Astra 28 having no escape before or after 22000 to 27500 . where as the SL 65 is unlimited ![]() Let us know how you get on. Dont give up. ![]() Bob |
