Default AOL it gets cheaper

Good Morning.

I have been with AOL from the old dial up days, through aol
broadband via the voyager, cost about £17 then, reduced to
£14/99, then reduced to £9/99 and I was given a netgear hub(wireless), this was for a year, from last Jan.

So wife phones up,gets Ireland says I will be leaving Aol
in Jan what do I do,she told the op she was ****ed off with
aol has they withdraw her hometown webspace on 31st
Oct, and we were loyal customers.

Immediate op said I can drop the broadband to £6/99 to start nov for a year to end in Jan 2010, and has you are on AOL talk(or talk talk carphone) at current £7/95, this will now be free, and we will supply a new top of the range
wireless modem for free. wife said thats not much use without a usb, Op said we will suplly one for free.

Wife reckons she will now save £20 a month, by switching
calls on our other phone to BT(all day for free) at £4/95 a month
current only on free evs & weekends, as the BT service will reduce all calls to mobiles UK at 7 p a minute, and get a free
HP printer from BT for doing this.AOL calls to mobiles are very expensive on AOL Talk about 20p or so.

So shes happy and a quick calculation tells me she is, Oh and the supposed free 0800 etc calls will be free on BT as AOL charged for the privilage, so we keep AOL talk on one line, only use it for 01/02 calls.

The saving will more than pay the rental of one BT line, plus

free printer(god knows what inks it uses, but I get refils cheap)
new modem and usb.

AOL speed, well I live 5 miles from the exchange Wrexham
North, so it is slow, but if I use Google Chrome this gets me out of 2nd gear.

Ill live with Aol for another year. Oh current average Aol was about £28 a month, now down to £6/95. Why two phones you ask, goes back to dial up days, BT offered a 2nd line a few years to,as they said let you have access to a phone,if the kids clog up the system, it was installed for only £20 and free line rental for 18 months. Many took up this offer, that was soon recalculated by BT having been swamped.
