Default Gibbi. 1m on a cryptik V brkt motor

Heres my Gibbi on a modifyed V brkt motor, i had to make the locating lugs on the V brkt smaller and drill two new holes in the dish brkt. i also had to fit some spacer tube on the bolts as the dish brkt was wider than the V brkt.

that looks good

the reason the purplemarina has done it is that the dish will have a proper fixing to the motor unlike the moteck ones where the dish can move off centre in strong winds

i would prefer the modified v motor on the dish to a moteck or stab motor

The V brkt motor was designed for orbital dishes. I had an old spare motor so i thought i would see if an other make of dish would fit it does !. This gives a very stable and positive fixing , it also easier to set up as there is one less alignment to make .

i guess your dish is high up from the pics so the better fixing to the motor will help too if your not using the gibby polar mount

similar sort of mod will work for the triax dishes i think

using that dish too it will be lighter than a triax 1metre dish which helps too to avoid motor strain and backlash

The dish looks up the roof, its fairly exposed. Ive had a orbital dish on a v bracket for 3 years and its not shifted yet !.
