Default Eurovox 5000 pvr Signal Problem

Hi new to all this so go easy,

Just bought this eurovox pluged it in did a fullscan signal strengh is jumpy and going crazy going from about 30 to 70 back to 5 i am able to recive some channels with good picture most of the other channels come up but have bad picture/audio quality. I have a direct connection to the box without splitters as im new to this im not sure what the problem could be any help would be a great help thanks.

check leads and connections should have a signal around 85%
whats the signal on a good channel

hi, the signal strength is 75% on the good channels, all the leads and connections seem fine.

75% is on the low side if f connector and leads are ok then you need to try a booster are you on cable bb ? if you are then how are you connecting box and bb at the same time or do you disconect the bb

hi sorry does bb mean broadband? im guessing it does and the answer is no i dont have any virgin package its just connected from the wall to my box.

if i need a booster can u recomend any or where to get one?

ebay look out for the `yellow brick`booster for about 20 quid.
also your signal could be too strong,vermin have an isolater from the wall have you got one? other wise try an 6db antenuator

MrBean I taking it that I misunderstood you when you said you connected the cable to the wall and expected a signal even though you don't have a cable package.

Assuming your cable service quality is good to begin with (picture quality on your basic cable package before you connect it to the box is good) and you flashed with the v1.1a of the UFL, and your cable connections are good and correct, then it has to be a problem with the box. You really shouldn't need an amplifier if it's a direct cable feed from the street with no splitters.

i took the white box off on the wall and its got this silver adapter it comes through, is that what you mean?

not sure if this is the new version but it came with 1.0 ST4 jul 10 2008 is that the new version
