Default Help wanted copying my own modem....

Ok i know the title seems strange but i want to clone / copy my existing modem onto an infite ntl 250 to test / practice.

I have read the mac from my VM 256, re written it to the 250 but cant get it to go online. Is it because i need to set the Serial number to match as well? if so how do i do this.

When the 250 boots up i dont get a flashing sync light, which is what i get on the original... Any help greatly apreciated.

Software i have : AmbitConfig and 250 Configurator, 250 is running infinite with a changed login password,

Thanks in advance for you paitence.

Thanks, i entered 80.235.128.126 (Plymouth) as the TFTP server address as this is what i got back from MAC Reaper when i tried it on my 256 modem.

Is there a way to test to see if the modem has been locked/hacked by VM ? its not performing like the 256 by that i mean the light sequences, on the 256 just by putting power on the sync light flickers fast and the ready light flashes untill its synced at that point both syn and ready are solid.

Cheers

ffs its a flashed modem why do people think its not working beause the lights show differently you tftp needs rechecking also dont use your 256 at all when using the flashed 1 as it will get knocked out by it so ignore the lights thats the way it should be worry if theres no lights coming on pmsfl

Thanks for the replys, the TFTP server is correct, i used MacReaper to check it first then manually set it using terminal.

I never have both boxes plugged in at the same time as i allready know you cant have 2 macs on the same node at the same time.

If i can log into the box and change the settings then i guess the 250 is ok, im also guessing as im using the 256 now to write this message that it hasnt been blocked.

Any other info or pointers to other posts would be great (im looking through pages of searches now).

Maybe theres some standard checks i can do to test the 250 ?

Thanks 666, ill do some reaping and try a new MAC i was kinda hoping that using my own which i pay for would remove the variable of the mac being a non working.

Ill paste the info from the modem in a few mins, just reaping at the mo.

The config im using is the one which i pay for which is cm-2148-256 I got this info from logging into my legit box using root / root and checking it.
