yep there is no clone safe firmware for the max-v m8 not an official 1 anyway i think the clones use the official f/w with limited success.

I've just been sent a Clone MAX V to try and update for someone.

The main differences are: Rubber feet on the clone, a big "Security protected" sticker on the bottom and an obviously photocopied instruction book.

There is no response on the serial port to a UFL, Voxer or DnUpman, but the keys do A/U despite the firmware already on it being reported as from March 08.

if you have a clone you just use the red or black normal firmware and jtag when eva it falls over it takes a while for it to currupt the bootloader anyways

youi could also if you have a red put the bluetsop on and flash with blie clone safe firmware

That wouldnt work as the blue firmware wether its clonesafe or official f/w does not contain the appropriate tuner driver for the red max as they are totally different tuners, you will get a no signal message on all channels m8.
