Exclamation Channel Error, now frozen on startup screen

Hello,
I was wondering if you could help me out with this problem. I am not sure whether it is hardware or software fault. Yesterday, i lost all of my channels, it reported a channel error on each one. When i did a scan (all uk) it reported that it found no channels, an error with finding channels. So we left it a day. Reconnecting the box this morning, i found that it froze on startup, on the Andromeda v2.0 image and the display just shows loading kernel.

I would reflash an image but i cant get it passed the first screen, therefore, i cant see the ip adress and everything. I have not changed my network card preferences so i tried to flash with Dbox image flashing assistant on passed settings. However, when i press ok to proceed it doesnt detect that the box has started. Any suggestions??

Thanks
Amish

Follow my step by step instructions in the link within this link. Also IFA V2.2 is here if you want to try it.
Good luck

I dont have an error permission. Maybe my first post was not clear. There seems to be a fault with the dbox. Before it even starts up fully it freezes on the first picture (the andromeda picture). I dont even get the channel list or anything. And the box is not responding to any remote commands. Basically, i need to start from fresh. I need to flash a new image onto it but i cant because IFA is not working for me. I will try again tho.

I know you don't have an error permission !!!

I'm not going to rewrite a guide when I have already done it before, that's why I went to the bother of finding a previous post.

All the instructions and tools you need to get your box back up and running are contained within the two links I gave you............all you need to do is read and follow the clear and concise instructions.

Ok thanks everyone who has suggested any ideas. If you ever find yourself in my situation follow the link titled 550 error permission denied:

"Turn off windows firewall
Disable wireless network connection

Rename image file mtd3.img and store it in C:\

set Local Area Connection network IP to 192.168.0.201
( IFA automatically sets dbox IP to 192.168.0.202 )
configure Local Area Connection link speed / duplex mode to 10Mbps / half duplex

open IFA
select image for flashing ( mtd3.img from C:\ )
select network device ( there should only be one available )
switch dbox on
press start
a dialogue box pops up
switch dbox off
click ok
switch box on
flashing should begin
progress is indicated on LCD ( IFA image on TV screen )
Fertig and smiley faces on LCD means success
disconnect network
off then on at the mains

The flash process takes three or four minutes.

Note that it might not kick in first time, but this method will flash your box and / or recover from a kein system / loading kernal error.

Good luck"
this worked. I dont know what happened to my old image but now i have blade quad. So all is good...for now. (you know how it is with these things). Thanks again for your help.

No null modem cable required mate, however If you attach one then you will be able to follow the flash process a little clearer.
