Pace 2000 been giving problems last week. Went thro' an update (late last week) LAIT and ERRS and then numbers rolling; left it alone and worked for a few hours.

Last few days, just stuck on Err5. I've tried:
1. Hold in standby and apply power
2. Removed red jumper (near battery) left for a few minutes re-inserted jumper and applied power (whilst holding standby); still stuck on Err5.

Tried this with and without the card inserted.

What can I try next?
Appreciate any suggestions.

unless your in pure, your net id is going to need setting since you pulled the red jumper.

err5 = nvram not found. eek. have you got libby and a serial cable?

i had this left it 20 mins while on err5 and it came on and started up up after taking thw update

I'm in ex CW. I was aware that I'd need to reset NetID but I'd expect the box to go thro AP52 and get stuck at this stage - is that not so?

I was going to cross that bridge once I get past Err5.

I don't have libby or cable ...

I left it overnight on Friday and next morning it was still on Err5
Tried this again just now (red jumper removed for 3 mins and replaced) and now stuck on Err5 - been about 5-7 mins will leave a little longer as you suggest.

What next if this doesn't work?

p.S. Card is out - is that ok?

people say to leave card out i usually do buut i have left it in sometimes before i knew , i think you should set the net id first mate i dont have to worry about that as im in pure so that mght be why therr dissappeared.

Do I need a serial to serial (9 pins) or do I need a 'null cable'?

You need a serial lead m8, read spikebabys tut "how to use libby" in the sticky top of cable tv chat.

Ok - will get a serial cable and give it a go. If NetID is not set or wrong, would it result in the PACE box displaying Err5?

I thought Err5 was because there is another problem to do with NVRAM?
