Default which box do i have?

just bought a box from workmate, trying to find out what sort it is.He seems to think its a eurovox but I have a eurovox max already(this other box is for daughter). It is 8 inches by 5inches with a height of about 1 inch .It is silver and has a front loading slot for a card(which is not needed for it to operate)There is the stand by button on the right hand side of the face. It says dvb on the top left hand corner of face andthats all. Black screen on front although not covering the whole face. As i said earlier it is a lot smaller than the eurovox max that I have, in fact about the size of a freeview box, but no make on it. It has a scart lead at the back along with ant in and out lead, also the 3 coloured option leads. If anyone knows what makeand which box this is from my sketchy description then any advice would be appreciated. At the moment the codes have to be changed on it manually but if i can find out which box it is then i will install the updated software. Thanks

Connect it up to a tv via the scart & turn it on. Somewhere in the menus there will be an indication of what the box is. Or tell us what happens when the receiver boots - any pictures, text etc.

A friend of mine has something similiar to that, no name on it, most of the boxes have DVB on them, this box that my friend has is simply known as the box - not much info on them.
