Yes, you put the R4 software and the game romfiles on a memory card which you insert in the R4 card.

don't buy your cards from dealextreme i bought some from there only too receive 3 fake cards with my order of 12 cards still trying to get refunded but that isnt going to happen be warned guys

Its getting very hard to tell who has real and who has fake cards anymore. Half the original makers have split into 3 or 4 separate companies all making identical products and several claiming others are fake.

I have been informed that this one should be the original DSTT but I won't guarantee it 100%.

DealExtreme: $6.83 New TopToy DSTT Multimedia Card for NDS and NDS Lite (Supports SDHC)

This card has been mooted on gbatemp forums who specialise in this stuff as the proper genuine cart. They say all the other DSTTs are fakes including the packages with memory.

If you have gotten a fake there isn't much to worry about unless you upgrade to the 1.16 firmware. Stay at 1.15 or below to be safe and it will work just as well as the genuine ones. If I can get a safe version of the 1.16 I will post a link here. I have bought a lot of these cards and haven't had time to go around all the people checking if they are fake or not. All are working fine on versions of the firmware below 1.15. I won't bother returning any unless they have problems.

Hi I have a dstt card and the edge card, I have had the dstt card for almost a year and just bought the edge one for my kids xmass so can u tell me if the edge is a fake?

I have yet to hear of fake Edge cards. The edge is a clone of another card anyway but it is perfectly good and safe. You should not have to worry about them at all.

hello i bought my card r4 with sd card from a place called Bentonville Retail Limited off the net, next day delivery.( had to move link not enought posts)

I also could do with a bit of help please dpg encoder i have a avi file which i can encode and veiw on ds, but i cannot get the volume adjuster to move before decoding i can click any other option to move up or down alter bit rate ect but the volume control just will not move and the sound is low on play back

any help or help docs anywere wouldbe great thanks
