Completely Confused

Ok, I've been on these forums all day searching for an answer to my problem. To be honest I feel its been answered 100 times but I'm still confused!

I have 2 chipped boxes - NTL Pace DI4001N
NTL Samsung (think its 2100 or similar)
(paid 300 £ for both a year ago)

Both went down on Sat night, only get BBC1, 2, ITV, CH4, 5 now. The guy I got them from is saying 100£ to get both cards re-done.

My question is what do I need to do to unlock them myself? I understand I need to re-program the cards but am confused with all this unlooping stuff etc.

u need an unlooper and a writer cost u about £40 from tmc mate then follow tuts from forum

sounds like he a trader m8 and the dates want changing do you no if they have a blocker image on them if they do then you need an unlooper cheap enough to purchase and you will also need a reader again cheap enough not very hard to do all available from our very own forum have a look at chatrmans site fleetcomputersystems m8 very cheap brill after service and very helpfull guy hope this helps you out m8

ok thanks how can I find out if they have a blocker image on them? Can I get any useful info from the engineer menu?

u need a card programmer to read card to see if it's locked or not
depands what cards are they?

ok look at the cards you got and tell us what they look like

ok the cards have a big NTL: logo on the front and on the back have a small credit card like chip and Nagra Vision written.

ok you have moscs cards, so they should be unlooped, you need a reader, infinity usb phoenix are good,,so while you waiting read up on mocs. how to read them and how to write them

I've always found MOSC's hard to do.

I prefer FunCard 4s, very very easy to do but you'll need the IRD and BK (these are two numbers unique to your box) in order to do them.

I have created a very easy Guide on how to do Funcard 4's (my little brother was able to follow it and do a card lol).
