Default Max232 interface

Hi Guys,thanks for your help so far in modem modification special thanks to Smoggy for the information he has given. Right I have the means ie: the haynes manual. Now I understand that I need a max232 interface card . I have looked on ebay and can get one 4 £10.00 however the card look as though it is for a laptop ?. plus the max 232 looks that smal its hard to fiquire out where it fits on the motherboard if it dus that is ?.Can 1 of you guys have a look 4 me plz as I only have a pc and dont want to buy if no good. I have emailed the guy but he has not replyed.

it plugs into the back of your computer.and i no the guy selling them on ebay.it will work on most pc,s

Your computer will need a working serial port.
Sometimes referred to as an RS232 port or if you look on the back you see something
similar to what looks like 10101 written above/below it.

will work fine long as u have correct software installed and that you connect the max interface to the modem board correctly ie tx rx vcc ground all go to the correct pins.....if its not included with it when u buy---its on this site anyway or pm me ill give u the details --cant remember what it is off top off my head!!
