Some more feedback directly from a contact (who has a voxbox) that works for the "other side", so the info is pretty good.
They have confirmed that warning letters will be sent out to all suspected box users and suposedly vm know all users that are using boxes, from each account that received the "warning" channel notice and will be using this record to send letters to the recipients of the "warning" channel.

Least to say hearing this from "the horses mouth" (my contact who also uses 2 different boxes themselves have now decided to D/C) makes me wonder about vm's true ability to find everyone that is using a box, but supposedly something is happening to make them traceable. Personally i would be willing to continue taking the risk as it is a pretty safe bet, as i would be challenging their ability to stop the hundreds of thousands of users to date.

Its interesting though that those who "would know" and are current users like the rest of us, are now switching off because of whats coming...anymore genuine info that can be added please feel free.

I'm sorry to say this m8 but you would have been as well listening to the horses ass rather than its mouth because its total BS he has told you in respect to catching folk because of the warning channel and associating it with their legit accounts.

Smoke and mirrors. Seems they can trace buyers from certain sites. As for tracing users, I wouldn't think so. Unless your a blabber mouth or somebody is spying in your window.The warning channel apparently gives a phone number to call, presumably to turn yourself in and I'm sure there are enough dimwits out there who would fall for this. I've read about this on a couple of other sites and I really don't think you should loose any sleep over it.

Ok so this warning channel was added, and as soon as our boxes updated they had our details. Can’t get my head round it. Guess I will just wait for my letter.

Hi this warning channel is just a test page like when bbc use to go off air you can see it but they dont know you can see it unless you tell them your box does not talk back to them so how would they know what you are watching if they were that clever don;t you think they would just turn you off or come knocking just my opinion.

gadgetfiend - Now unless you work for VM yourself and can talk with some execution and fact with regards to this issue, try backing off a little, maybe potentially your a seller therefore not in your best interest?? as I am purely passing off information directly from an internal techy - who themselves use the same equipment as the rest of us, till tonight!

I am not saying, the warning channel is solely their strategy in "catching us all", but i have been told there is some new things being put into place starting with letters being issued as version 1 of this thread has stated and the warning channel i'm sure for some users will be suckered in by it.

It could all be hype, and mis-information purposely to scare people but it is something that we all need to be aware of and be kept up to date with the latest knowledge for everyone to mke our own minds up.

I do not sell eurovoxes or any other type of box, i would not want the hassle, there are guys that do and if you check my posts you will see that i recommend them. If i were a seller i'd be directing them to myself. The information you posted is from a very ill informed source who is believing everything he is being told from some other ill informed source probably.

I dont work for VM either wouldnt want to as they pay peanuts, and when you pay peanuts you get monkeys working for you. I do know the industry and understand the technology used within it very very well as ive worked for many years building and servicing cable networks throughout the UK before moving on to a another related job, so wether i can speak with execution and fact, thats entirely up to you or anyone else to decide, i know what i know thats all i can say on that matter.

There are ways they can tell whats going on inside your house from your street but they don't do it as it costs them far too much money and uses to much specialised equipment, resources and man hours. They have absolutely no possible way of remotely telling who is using what, your original post stated that:

I basically pointed that out as total BS m8, as the warning channel is viewable on their hooky boxes and not their legit ones and they cannot tell from their end that these are being used. Your second post you said.

now thats a big climbdown from the first and in that situation i would say anyone who was dumb enough to call in after seeing it deserves to be caught. People are being caught by records obtained from busted sellers and from ebay who are grassing everyone as well as the ads on the TV about cable fraud so it may even be so called friends grassin folk up.

well i have to say i have used a vox and a moded pace and never yet seen this page so am i lucky?

ive never seen it either tbh m8 probably because i use a cdf with no vacant channels on it though.

you will see it if you update your channel lists. if not then you may be missing a transponder which means your missing out on some "free" channels
