Default Some Firefox Extensions

Flashblock
is an extension for the Mozilla, Firefox, and Netscape browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Macromedia Flash content on a webpage and blocks ALL Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content.

Flashblock currently blocks the following content types:
* Macromedia Flash
* Macromedia Shockwave
* Macromedia Authorware

Linkification

Converts text links into genuine, clickable links.

To view and set options, you can (1) use the Linkification right-click context menu, (2) right-click the status bar icon and click "Options", or (3) click Tools->Extensions, and double-click the Linkification item.

Adblock Plus

Right-click on a banner and choose "Adblock" from the context menu - the banner won't be downloaded again. Maybe even replace parts of the banner address with star symbols to block similar banners as well. Or you select a filter subscription when Adblock Plus starts up the first time, then even this simple task will usually be unnecessary: the filter subscription will block most advertisements fully automatically.

NoScript
Winner of the "2006 PC World World Class Award", this tool provides extra protection to your Firefox.
It allows JavaScript, Java and other executable content to run only from trusted domains of your choice, e.g. your home-banking web site, guarding your "trust boundaries" against cross-site scripting attacks (XSS) and Clickjacking attempts, thanks to its unique ClearClick technology.
Such a preemptive approach prevents exploitation of security vulnerabilities (known and even unknown!) with no loss of functionality...
Experts do agree: Firefox is really safer with NoScript ;-)

The flashblock I have as it helps rid those stooooopid ad/games made in flash, recommended!
Adblock I find works for a bit, then after a while, dissapears from Firefox!
Strange.

Default Re: Some Firefox Extensions

I found that Flashblock stopped the WMP FF plug-in from working on the RAI.click site, but didn't show an icon to unblock it, so I uninstalled it.

P.S. I like the WOT (Web-Of-Trust), FF add-on as it warns you against rip-off sites like Download Nova and Download-Provider, which aren't forgeries, and don't contain malware, (so aren't flagged by finjan or siteadvisor), but try to get your credit card details by offering bogus downloads of mp3s etc instead. WOT will also warn you if you click on a link to an untrusted site within a safe one.
