Question Bootloader 2.16d - but still unable to enter 'p' option ???

Hi,
I'm trying to flash my modem with haxorware, but having a problem...
Serial max232 connected to laptop via usb to serial cable, setting up putty, rebooting the modem, "1" , "2" ,"p" option show up. But when pressing the p key (of course within 2 sec), nothing happen it still continues booting ...

Any idea on what the problem might be and how to solve it ? anyone?

Any help is much appreciated.
Tnx!!!

thanks for reply.
@ zenr: I think hyper setup correctly as I can see the response from the modem.
@ pepper: yeah, I press the p key as soon as plugging the power cable in, but still no luck

Hi when i first started out i tried a USB to serial cable but there crap doesn't work with them well i never got it to work anyway...... you need a true legacy serial port device so a pci card or a port built into the motherboard of whatever your using not sure what your options are with a laptop thou.

Is everything being detected properly???

I had a similar issue with using my laptop and the MAX232 hardware.
It refused to work properly so I ended up using a desktop PC and no problems.

Might be your laptop just doesn't like the MAX232 hardware!

Thank everyone for the input, I flashed the modem successfully. everything was down to the usb-serial driver. Tried number of them, then finally found one that works. But after flashing the modem and setting up all the settings, I rebooted it .... and .... sadly it doesn't boot up any more ( guess I have well bricked it. Will have to get a new one, as I don't know how to lift the tsop chip
