Firstly are you talking about a subbed modem or one with `updated` firmware?

I'm going to assume you already have a flashed modem.
If this is the case, change the mac.
EVERYTHING you need is in the stickies at the top of this forum.
250_configurator will allow you to access the modem and change the mac and config file (the config tells the modem what speed to use).

If the above makes NO sense to you, then you haven't researched enough!

Like i asked before, do i need hardware to do the above??

Incidently, i thought the idea of a forum was to help one another ! Not type sarcy replies, i have researched, spent hours doing so, am still no wiser alltho picked a few things up , surely it would of been easier just to answer question fully, instead of making noobs feel a "dick"

mrcrisp's is advice is sound, all the info you need is here you just have to search for it. carnt you imagine the amount of new forum users who post the same question again & again

the idea of a forum is to help one another, please don't bite the hand that feeds you or you will find that you will stay hungry for a long time.

I'm helping you to help yourself, if that's okay.
You do not need any hardware other than connecting your updated modem to your network ethernet port and using 250_configurator.

You haven't really given us enough information for us to be much of a help.

Again, i'm assuming you have an modem that is already `updated`, so no, you need no additional hardware.

how have you got your modem connected to your pc?
disconect your cable feed & connect a ethernet cable to your modem & pc.
turn all firewalls off.

then try 250configurator, if your using the username "admin" password "infinite" and you still cannot connect it looks like they were changed when the modem was flashed, chat with whoever you got the modem off to get the correct passwords.

there is a way you can find the correct username and password but you will need a MAX232 Interface & serial cable.
