And a USB programmer for the funcard Do this look correct? im n*l ireland. Also can anyone recommend a one stop online shop for all or most of these? On a budget and want to keep costs down, i already have a technotrend 1501 paperweight! Thanks D |

Hi Dmck. Your list is looking good to me. So far as I know the only difference between Funcard numbers is the amount of memory on them (larger number = more memory). Below 4 and I don't think the files fit. Seen someone else mention Funcard5's work, so I guess 6's will as well - but they'll be more expensive.
FloppyDTV - either get from digital-everywhere's shop or kustompcs.co.uk, depending on who's cheaper. Blue Zeta - Hisat provided mine at a good price and pre-flashed it with 0.79 Joker, so saving me a job. Funcards - ebay provided mine USB programmer - I got an Infinity USB from ebay, but have since ebayed it and got a CAS3+ programmer from Duolabs instead. It was almost the same price but can flash CAMs as well as cards. I didn't think I'd ever want to flash a CAM so didn't get a CAS3+ initially - I was wrong! ![]() If you're using the TV Pack, keep hold of the Technotrend as you can use this to pre-sort 90% of your channels for you and set them up with a proper guide. Have a look at the EPG thread for more details. |

I deffo recommend a FloppyDTV, wish I got one in the first place
![]() When I use funcards I always use Fun 4's. I've used 3's, 5's and 6's which all work fine for STB's so I guess would work fine with a Floppy or other CAM. I'm also sure I've seen people use Fun 2's but tbh I would stick with the Fun 4's. Tried and tested and known to work

Hi guys.
Good post this. Very helpful. I have 2 quick questions. I have been using a TT1501 with Dvbviewer and found it quite good but I do miss MCE. 1. Can you install 2 floppydtv cards to record one channel while watching another? 2. Is there much involved in updating the funcard whenever the keys are rolled? (NTL) I have been using a softcam with auto update. I am assuming MCE2005 or VMCE dont support softcams? Thanks, Wavey |

Yup - been running 2 floppydtv's daisy chained for a few weeks now. Record one channel while watching another or record two - whatever!

the floppydtv bluffs vista into thinkin' it's a dvb-t card and u adjust the reg. transponder file to map dvb-t frequencies with the cable frequencies and you use mce drivers. This works fine for limited epg but u need to use the bda drivers for full support.....if u use the floppydtv bda drivers to do this it won't scan for channels, no native support, don't thinlk it's likely either therefore a few people such as cafe-racer and confused stu have devised a work around by installing a spare dummy card like the tt1501 with bda drivers to get full support for v*m cable including 14-day epg.....cheers |
