Default Advice Needed

Hi everyone. My parents currently have a full Sky subscription in the U.K. but also have a property in Spain. At present they take their Sky card with them and use this in the Sky box they have in Spain, but obviously they are unable to view the Sky Movies and Sports channels as the card is not paired with the Spanish box. I have heard that there are now satellite receivers available that can read Sky cards and show all channels subscribed too. Can anyone suggest any satellite receivers that can do this. As it is for my parents, being able to do this without the need to keep flashing would be preferable. Thanks

Hi mate get a Dreambox 500s, it will read the Sly card and will keep it updated if you use the Cccamd EUM. The box will not work out the box, but I see that Analoguesat has one for sale. If you click on this like it will take you there and I am sure that he will put the latest Cccamd EMU in the box for you. Here is the link http://www.techwatch.co.uk/forums/44...satellite.html

Good luck and I hope all goes well for you.

Very best regards Wez

Or the MVision ST-5 will and also accept a card and allow you to watch the premium stuff or to network it with another so you can watch in two different rooms.

Thanks for the info everyone. Can anyone answer me this, as it appears to me that a patch needs to be done on every sat box to be able to read a sky card, once this is done, can the box be left alone with no further patching etc and it will always be able to read the sky card inserted as long as it is a legit card?

The answer to that is unknown. As long as Sky don't do a card swap or otherwise fiddle with the encryption yes, it will carry on working, as long as the card is allowed to update via satellite when it needs to.
