i wonder if anyone can confim this for me, i was told today by a guy selling 60gb consoles that there is a mod for the ps3 where you can play backups i have read about things like ferrox and erulx or sumthing but nfink ever comes of this the guys wants 25gbp to mod the ps3 what you think ???

If thats real then its well worth it.
But be careful
Read online first.
Cos if there is one its the first ive heard bout it. It cud be in just finished stages. i.e. not tested thoroughly.

i think its BS only thing i hear is the iso thing they are looknig to do

I doubt a chip mod for the PS3 is possible. The Infectus chip is can be soldered onto the PS3 but it is only used for reading/editing the BIOS. As seamouse said, the only known hack at the minute (which isn't even working properly) is the ISO loader which sounds more believable.

Well even if he is telling the truth and can chip the PS3 then how are you gonna make the backups. You would need a BD-RW which are pretty pricey.
My Guess is he's full of sh*t, the only thing I've heard of for the ps3 is to copy the ISO to the PS3 hard drive with Linux but there is no ISO loader yet to play them.
