A poster appears to have been curtailed the right to reply for pointing out that the OVERLY vaunted Lincsat (who merits a sticky) is more expensive and gives less replacement warranty than other sellers.

I believe this is a valid point for users thinking of buying and on a forum. It should not be locked from members' responses. If R Branson sponsored this site and was a chum, would we be encouraged to burn our Eurovoxes altogether?

The thread was locked cause I think the poster got some of his facts wrong.

+ I think he should have contacted the person concerned first.

Your comments are unsubstantiated and innaccurate and thus invalid. I suggest that you get your facts straight before posting again., and yes I locked the thread, for the reasons stated by hoppy. But no censorship took place, I could just as easily banned the member and deleted his posts, but that is not the way we normally moderate this forum, unless forum rules are severely infringed.

EDIT.

Acting in a fraudulant manner would be a good example.

It appears to be due to Lincsat's response that the member was in fact wrong but i do not agree that the thread should have been closed.

Well, I had 3 choices

1.Let it run, and let more unbstantiated comments be posted.

2.delete it.

or
3 Close it.

I chose the option that in my judgement was the most fair to all concerned.

Seems only reasonable that Lincat can reply to a closed thread, yet nobody else can make a retort to make their point. Fair is the mods perogative I guess. LOL - what a farce

Come on guy's, we are all here to help each other and that's what make techwatch great.

Hopefully the buyer and seller can sort this out between them.

I'm sure you will now be allowed to address the issue within this thread Ian and explain the reasons behind your original post and help clear up any misunderstandings.

In the defense of Linc posting at the end of a closed thread i myself have been guilty of this in the past on all-forums its easy to overlook that a thread has been closed and post on it as the thread is still open to Mods.
