Canal Digital is on a different satellite, so you would not be able to get it with a dish fixed on 28E.

Also check out the deals where you are for canal Digital, you may get a box included anyway.

wod is talking about a method of getting the channels by hacked means, which would incurr and extra expense of at least £130 for the CAM+programmer, plus an extra 40 euros for the receiver.

It would have to be the 4th one down, as that is the only one that has a slot for CAM, by the looks of it

Hi Guys,

Just to say thanks for all your advice and help. Am now sitting watching itv for the first time in 22 yrs in my own home. In the end I got a man to install it all for me, which he did in a couple of hours, and I am made up. The picture is perfect! Been catching up on all the old sherlock holmes and Poirots.

Once again, thanks a lot. Without your help I would have never gone for it.

Have a great christmas and a fantastic 2009!

Love

Jane (Grublet)

Nice one

You should have all the BBC / ITV and Channel 4 families plus Channel 5. The rest of the C5 family are still scrambled for the time being.

Now for future reference DONT PANIC if some of the channels disappear at some point - there are irregular technical changes on 28E and some receivers dont track the changes correctly. If it happens to you come back and we will help you sort it out

Hi everyone,

sorry to hijack this thread. but would it be ok to ask a quick question regarding this subject?

im in the east of holland and we've recently upgraded our old canaal digitaal reciever and lnb (got the duo thing now).

if i buy a dish and some cable, can i point it at the 28.2 sat and use the old single lnb and asscom (yeah asscom - no joke!) reciever to get ITV too?

feel free to delete this post if im out of line.

love,

jas

edit: i stumbled upon this forum while googling for itv installation help. and i did read this thread, and im sure the answer is simple. its just my wife is going to go mad if i buy another dish if i cant get it to work. so i thought id ask just to make sure

Yep, as long as you follow the dish size guidelines given in this thread from others in your area it will be fine. I can't speak for the receiver though as I know nothing about it.

That should be fine, assuming you purchase the correct sized dish, for your location.
Someone in Heerlen, has reported using a 60cm dish, with good results.

ill let you know how it works out.
do i have to align the up/down of the dish as well as the left/right (please excuse my rubbish 'tech talk' !!!)

or can i just copy the position of my current dish and just move it a bit to the left?

You'll have to move it both up/down and left/right.
This software will help with the alignment, once you've put in your location co-ordinates.
