Hi all,
I just received this mail from another forum and thought that it might be of interest to anyone planning on buying a DMM800.

Hi kerrywez

Dreambox DM800 prices are increasing very soon.
Once existing stocks have sold out the next batch will be at the new increased price.

So if you are thinking of buying a DM800 then now is the time to do it.

The DM800 will be going up £40 (49 euro) from £359.00 (441 euro) to £399.00 (490 euro) in the next few weeks.

Might be prudent to buy now.

I got this email also. Personally I am not going to be rushed. I don't know why the increase, but I am guessing it could be because the pound has fallen again. I will wait until it has recovered, and will hopefully see the prices drop.

I would have thought that they would have been bringing the price down rather than putting it up, in the present climate anyway. I am like you mate and in no hurry to spend my money on one. I can't see that many stations being in HD format, that will be viewable on any box, without a sub. So without seeing any breakthrought on the breaking of encryptions, I shall not be spending any more on boxes.

Not really Kerrywez, all receivers are more expensive to buy now due to the fall in the Pound value against the dollar and Euro. was $1.90 to £1.00 a few months ago, now around $1.56 to £1.00 the Euro was €1.26 now €1.20 so you see as a dealer we cannot absorb the increases. Even Technomate receivers will be increasing 20% due to the Dollar.
