mac address not changing in network connections

Hi i have recently got a flashed infinite 250 modem. but i am having problems connecting. i have tried mac address 2-3 miles away and still no luck. i know nottingham is a pure ntl area so the settings are fine. ive tried to force cfg ive unticked it, i am basically pullin my hair out here. I have a 2mb connection on my legal 256 modem, which gets cut off nextweek but i dont think this would cause any conflict. The only problem i can think of is when i put the modded box in and apply the settings with the 40th mac address put in, when i go into control panel and network connections/support/details the physical address ( mac address right? ) is still showing my legal box mac address. shouldnt this of changed or is this right?

Thanks all problem sorted. i didnt knoe these modems cud actually fly from a 11th floor flat hehe
