[quote=wod;239346]the hughes vsat dishes for the lotto are skewed by the look of it , the whole dish i mean not the lnb

Yes had a look again, the entire dish is skewed at the local spar.

Also next door the Mountain visitor centre have a broadband dish
aimed at Helsat 39 E, this is what looks like a 60cm dish with a dam big lnb
but the entire dish is skewed, the lnb as a cable from the front and a double cable from the rear. They are too far from Wrexham North Exchange to get a landline internet signal, I am 5Km away so they must be well over 6km, I get a reasonable signal.
I pay £6.99 a month, they are paying over £60 a month rental for the sat connection.

the Wrexham turn off which they fly over on the way to Liverpool.
All Manchester flights used to come this way from Spain, but no longer do.
Thanks for the photo, hey a bit of wind and good bye roof.

My company installs there they are vsat dishes the dish has a feedhorn with OMT and c-120 signal band lnb and BUC (transmitter) the reason you skew the whole dish is so the ovel shape feed horn stay is shape with the ovel shape dish as the uplink transmitted signal is more sensitive and need correct alinement if you did not skew the whole dish the the signal would never get to the satellite,

So to make it easy the lotto uses VPN over a satellite bradband network

book makers used 90cm or 1.2m Andrew/ asc signal dishes the reason you need a big size it to allow for rain fade as the whole shop runs of the dish no no signal = no customers
