Default Re: sb5100i or sb5101e??

i think then, i'll go for the sb5101 with the haxorware.

Next ques, can i run my subbed modem on the same line at the same time, or at least keep switching over - i am just thinking that keeping my normal usage on my subbed modem will keep them from my door - and just use the modded box to download torrents etc...

You can use a splitter to split your cable input so you can have both modems cabled up all the time.

If you only have one NIC in your 'puter I suggest you install another for use with the hooky modem. They say that it's risky using the same NIC that's in use with your subbed modem as your ISP has this NIC address linked to your subbed modem.

If you have an old NIC that's been in use with your subbed modem you can use SMAC or similar to alter its address to use it with modded modem.

Easy as that!

cheers for that blobbins - found and downloaded that no probs.

I currently use a wireless router - seperate to subbed modem.

If i carry on using that will i need to change the mac address of the router? I assume it would be that mac address the modem sees and collects??

I plan to use subbed modem for normal use then *cough* modem for downloads so i could stay wired it - ussing a spoof mac fo my ethernet card.

Any thoughts?
