Default sb5100i or sb5101e??

Hi all,

I am new to this and thought as i have taken the jump with a viewing box i'd give a modem a crack too

Having a look on the old bay of flea i find that two models jump out - an sb5100i with sb5100 mod software on it and an sb5101e with haxorware 1.04rc.

Both claim that they are brick proof - which sounds good given my noob status.

Cany any one recommend one over the other?? (they're both more or less the same price).

I am currently a 2 mb cust so can do my sniffing etc... fine from here.

Thanks for any help and advice

Well firstly you need to find out what franchise area you were/are ie, pure, excw,or tw.
As the modems will only work in certain areas, well the I will only work in a specific area as will the E (Eurodocsis and International Docsis) so thats the important part, and as for being "Brick" proof thats a load of old twoddle !!! anything is brickable.

Well in truth no, you could actually use both, its only really excw areas that need the Eurodocsis modem, BUT in general it is the 5100i that is put out in tw areas,
