If you read through various forums on the Cable Modem sections you will see people coming out with all kinds of speeds.
I for one get around 9Mb on speed tests, although I was downloading a file at over 20Mb yesterday. The speed tests xfer relativley small (for someone on 20Mb and would be VERY small for someone on 50Mb) amounts of data and therefore the file downloads before the speed has picked up due to latencies between servers etc etc. So VM are correct, although its quite a nice blag for slow BB!
