I think this is such a bad move - the BBC is meant to be a public service provider, but increasingly it is behaving like an aggressive multinational - the different being, it's not funded by profits or shareholders but through imposed subscriptions.

I think the BBC is in danger of being anti-competitive, and trying to squeeze out local press is definitely a bad move - the BBC already has strong local media presence and doesn't need to expand this further unless it's looking to squeeze out smaller companies already in danger of decline.
