Default Modem speed question!

Hi all, i have a ambit 255 modem (flashed) , on speed test it registers 1987kb download, but using flashget it only downloads at 300k max!
Does this mean it must be a 2mb mac addy, or could it mean i need the signal strenght turned up on cable (can they do this) or is it some other problem??

Regards
Sparky

Sounds like a 2 meg mac. Well around that. Strange your getting 300kbps on flashget.Should only get 200k or in the region of.
Are you forcing a config file?

Well if you no how to put in the mac then you will be able to go to the config page, assuming your using Haxorware and input it from there.
Or if ur using Infinite then use 250config to input a config file.
If using sigma then you will be able to input a config from their web page.

Well how do u input your mac addresses?
Or when you type in 192.168.100.1, the user for infinite should be "Infinite" and "SetValue" for password.
Its other if not this me thinks.

How can you say it ONLY downloads at 300kbs max? Thats 3Mb!
So yeh, it appears you have a 2Mb config assigned to that MAC.

Goto a mates a few miles away and sniff some new macs, choose one with a 20Mb config...et voila!

If you cant find one without a 20mb config auto assigned, then just force a 20mb config on the mac.
