Hi, Last week I purchased a cheap Eurovox 2, and was helped by a member to reflash, which I did, and seemed to be a success, file seemed to load up perfectly
However, the unit did not come with a remote, and was not planning to buy one, especially as none seem to be going on ebay, (the slimline remote doesn't work with the box, and I'm not sure if any other remote will) And, as the box is for my bedroom, and will be more or less next to my bed, so was wondering can I load the channels on without using the remote? As when I've got into the menu and wanted to scan, I'm unable to as I haven't been able to hit the red button Thanks in advance for any replies |

Wondering how you got into the menu? did you do it by using the channel buttons on the box itself? I once had an occasion when flashing a box,the remote didnt work for some reason so I used the buttons on the box,and managed to get to the menu, and then tried the remote again and this time it worked, wonder if it would for you ?have you tried it since?

I think that the best way to go now would be to download a cdf file for your area, the top sticky of this forum will surely have one,but you may have to look for one,If I knew where you were I have helped you look, lots of members have gone this way for various reasons, there is no need to scan doing it this way of course, because someone else has done it for you
once you have a cdf file on the box you should then be able to just use the channel up/down buttons .... |

from your other posts I can see you have another eurovox.
as suggested by telecom69 load a cdf file to your box. upload your cdf file from your other box edit it so your most used channels are in the first 10 to 20 channels to make it easier using the up/down buttons then download it to your EV2 |

Thanks alot for the advice, will try that, but will keep looking for a remote, hopefully one will pop up sooner or later
On another note though, when I plugged the box into check it was all working and to try and do a scan, when I re-plugged in the slimline, every channel was coming up with "no or bad signal" Something was not right, so checked all the connections, all OK, reset it a few times, each time again, no difference made, so did a "fast install" on each of the 3 frequencies, (I'm ex NTHell, 6.887, Coventry) still nothing So then did a factory reset, scanned again on each of the 3 frequencies, nothing, to say I'm baffled at this is an understatement, although gutted we've lost all those channels! |

if your broadband is still live then try scanning directly from the cable feed( ie no splitters etc) and see if you get anything
