Default OpenMedia 500cs

A mate of mine has just emailed me and said he brought one of the boxes and asked if i can help with setting it up.

After a google search, i understand its a dreambox clone? ( never leant them)

As it is both cable and sat and heard you have to load images on it via ftp? Correct?

when ftp`in i read you have to add:

/var/keys and /var/scce files/folders? do you add something inside?

On the sat side, people say you can load a image and open up a lot of channels... But im guessing this non sly?

A bit old but still relevant(I google searched openmedia 500cs and found this) As hadmad said can you use the same cable image for satellite. It would be interesting to see how the box handles under my non motorised sky dish

Thanks for that. Say I put a cable image on to it, then decide I want I want to use a satellite image and connect the dish up instead of cable. Would it automatically delete the cable image? Or could I just manually switch at the back with no probs? Also is there a way of putting images on to these boxes, or can I just use Dreamup?

If its a DB500 clone only one image at a time can be loaded. So each time you want to switch from cable to satellite or vice versa you need to set it up again..!
