I got a sky sub card in my HD box plus I've got an old canceled sub card

I put the canceled one in the HD box to update it over night so that i could use in my DM800 to pickup free to air but whilst in the hd+ box I noticed that I was still able to record and playback FTA channels (not any of my sub channels though)

I thought you needed a sub card with the minimum package for this facility to work

Hi mate, the card is paired to the box, I would imagine that the card that was not paid up was not recognised by the box and the box was still active because it still thinks the paid up card is still there, but as the card that was in the box was not active you were not able to get the channels which your own card was paid up for, you would have been able to record any FTA channel.

Hope this explains what I consider happened.

I understand that the old (not paired up card) would not show my sub channels but I also believe it shouldn't be able to record or playback

Maybe it's works by the box

I'm working a 30day notice period with sky so I see if it still works then
