hi guys.
cant this software reverse the dump from the box, i.e undo the encryption???? it converts the software so it is in a format for the box to accept, so im sure it could reverse it......anyone tried?????? also the box can convert the download to a format which is available to be sent down the cable line, so couldnt some off the hits/pairing be recorded and decompiled with this. off to have a look at this, but sadly aint got a box to test on, so dont think i will get very far, but will explore the file in depth of what we have |

Scientific-Atlanta SASect
Software Image Sectioning Program Version: 4.0 User Guide Revision Date: February 25, 2005 Introduction SASect is a program for formatting Scientific-Atlanta settop images in preparation for spooling from a headend. SASect reads an input file, compresses it, breaks it into DSMCC sections and writes the result to an output file. Options are available to not compress the file as well as to further format the file into MPEG transport stream packets using a PID you provide. XLD Download capability has been integrated into version 2.0. This allows the user to download images to the set top via Serial or Ethernet. Support for the 8300DVB platform has been added as of version 4.0. Hopefuy reading this my understanding is that if got a good dump from a 8300 with bk this program will write dump to 8300 dvb via serial or ethernet, sorry if behind havent been around for few days, rizlaman.

Come on guys any futher tips on this one-I've been playing with a 4200 and a 8300 and can only get it as far as getting the Dos screen which says waiting for packet and it just hangs? Reset box at this time and got Auld on front panel but nothing happens.I'm using a straight ethernet cable and have tried setting the network connection to 192.198.100.2 as in default of prog and also to the HTTP address and SSL OKE address in menu of 8300 box and tried with Obtain an IP address automatically. Any pointers? Is there any other bits needed or am I missing something? Cheers.

Well got hold of a crossover cable today and repeated everything i've done so far with straight ethernet and same responce-waits for packet? Given up until it becomes a bit clearer (if it ever does) as i'm getting blisters on me fingers from the amount of button presses
