I just got slated on another forum for asking whether the 2110 functionality of this program, is a valid prospect!!
So screw it, until Wizz or anyone else gives the lads on the forum another point in the right direction, then Im not even gonna bother asking about this XLD SaSEct p**h. I dont even have any of the Sceintific Atlanta boxes in the first place!!
I just wanted to get the help for other members..

Peace out, Beatbox

Ok, just wondering, I downloaded a V+ dump editor, can't remember whether it was from this forum or wizardmods.

I was wondering whether it would be useful or not. Would it decrypt the encrypted dump file and give you the ability to edit the BK and IRD? This still requires working out how to put the image on the 8300 without bricking it...

Isn't that application just to edit the Net ID dump for your area?

lol...bollocks...I think ur right. I was just doing a quick scan through the files I've downloaded to try to get mine working and just came across the title without reading the description. Ah well, if there was such a thing it sure would help work this thing out...provided it's not bull or a hoax after all...

I'm in ex c&w, and my 8300 isn't local, i think its from pure N*L. Is there any way of changing net id without lifting the 512?

Great minds think alike eh mate? Haha. No mate, you can't change the Net ID without lifting the 512 chip.

SA-Sect is a tiny part of a suite of programs for firmware development on Scientific Atlanta boxes. All this program does is segment a firmware into a form suitable for incorporation into an Mpeg datastream.

If you really wanted, you could knock a 'C' program up to do the same thing in 30 mins or less !

There's a similar program around somewhere that does the same thing for Samsung firmware (it actually does exactly the same thing) and probably a Pace version as well.

The program is not useful in the slightest for boxkey retrieval etc.
