No not if you are using it in conjunction with a null modem cable?

I've got a USB cable from my computer to a Serial Adapter male, to a female to female gender changer to the starview 1 box.
In device manager it has the prolific USB-to-Serial as COM 4, but when I select COM 4 on the GTRom v4.00 and download (after selecting the bin file STARVIEW_H20070527_300eE_api) it waits about 22 secounds and then says flashing failed!!!

Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong??

Thankyou
