Default FAO Satsmo Starview 4

Hi Satsmo, I understand you might be able to help me out. I have a Starview 4 Super USB box and I can't get started at all. I'm in Dublin and am on the en tee el analogue system.
I've downloaded the firmware to the box but when I scan for channels it just says 'Info: No new channel'. I've tried all the different providers on the list. I've inputted new key codes that I got from a friend who has a working box. I've reset the factory settings and started again.
I've tried all these options suggested by others yet still the same problem no channels being found when I automatically scan.
Any ideas on what's going wrong?

N** do not have any analogue system in Ireland. You need to flash with 1.02, turn keycode on and scan on that provider.

Make sure you scan from the direct feed without a splitter if you are using one. This is presuming you have a live feed.

I have now seen your other thread. You tried to flash a word doc to the SV4? What does it say in system info, as you said you have now flashed 1.02 successfully.

I definitely flashed the proper 1.02 to the system, (ie I dragged the .bin file onto my usb stick, put the usb stick in the back of the machine and it uploaded successfully) although since then I have done a factory reset as advised elsewhere so maybe this has since been deleted?
My system info now says
Model ID C500
S/W Version 1.02 Beta
Boot Version b-11
Date Sept 15 2008

Not sure about N** and their analogue or digital feed but what I have in my house pre-box is 15/16 channels including sky, discovery and setanta ireland (which means it is cable tv of some type as these aren't available on terrestrial tv). It is definitely not digital either as there is no digital display, remote control, menu etc. I'm almost sure its N** analogue I have as I don't think there are any other cable providers in my area of Dublin. One problem may be that it is a shared house I have just moved into where the people who live here aren't paying anything for the cable tv. They either seem to be just picking it up from the feed next door or else the landlord is paying the bill.

I have turned the key code on and scanned with all the providers on the list. It looks to scan through around 20 channels taking about 20-25 seconds but I just keep getting the same message 'Info: No new channel'.
