Do you mean an lnb with twin outputs? or do you mean a monoblock?
If you mean just a double lnb (an lnb with two outputs) so you can have two receivers both looking at the same satellite (28.2 east in sky's case) then yes no problem.
If on the other hand you mean a monoblock (2 lnb's in one looking at two seperate satellites) then im not sure if thats possible with a sky dish.

hope that makes sense as i have just returned from the pub...lol

Hi Red,

It makes perfect sense, yes I want to buy another receiver (Technomatic)and also keep my Sky receiver. Are Technomatic OK as there a few on EBAY which are reasonably priced.

So by the sounds of it I probably need a new dish, a monoblock and another feed from it into my house for the new receiver. Sounds a bit complicated are there any idiot guides to doing this anywhere ?

thanks

Malc

PS. hope you had a good night at the Pub

If its a standard sky dish then you may have spare outlets on the lnb. You can connect another receiver to one of the spare outlets no problem. Just run a suitable length of satellite grade coax cable from the dish to the location where you want the second receiver.

You will only be able to watch the free channels on a Technomate receiver.

No, you don't NEED a new dish, if you just want to view channels that are on the same satellite as Sky.

However, if you want to view channels from other satellites, then ideally, yes you would want to to get another dish.

Hi everyone,

What would be good alternative to the Technomatic ? Are there any that will receive the satellite channels that uses Sky card or would I need to keep my Sky receiver along with a new one

Sorry if I sound a bit dim but I have no idea about any satellite receivers and what they can receive, so any suggestions and help
would be gratefully received.

thanks

Malc

Are you sure you don't mean 'Technomate' ?

Yes there are loads of receivers to chose from, The Technomates and the Dreamboxes are the most popular.

A number of receivers can read a Sky card, yes-

Here is a list so far:-

Receivers/CAMs that can read a Sky card?
