GTRom will not download via Com port

Hi
I have read lots of threads but still can't figure this out!!

Starview box - Firmware 258e - Boot Version 7.0.
Has clone remote and red paint on the screws on the motherboard so looks like a clone (even though the scart's on the left)

Have got the TCB tool bar and downloaded the GTRom loader v4 with all the .bin files under the sun

I am using the Null Modem serial lead from the box to PC

Every time I try and down load the bin file via GTRom it says Flash Update Fail...
Have tried all the com ports, loads of different .bin files, pressing download then turning it on, doing it in stand by and repeating all loads.

Can't get this bloody thing to work (it's lucky not to be tied to a load of bangers and exploded)!!!!!

Please can some-one help; just stop my left eye from twitching would be nice.

if your box is a starview1 you will need crypstar-v1.4-core400 bin file.
you will also need gtrom v4.00 to load the binfile.
if you need them pm me and i will send them to you.

nb. if your box is a starview1 clone (copy) you will need crypstar-v1.4-core257 which is clonesafe

I'm using gtrom v4.00 to load the binfile and have the crypstar-v1.4-core400 bin file, but it still doesn't work

Have already read the dooby2oon thingy and got the gtrom and bin file from there but still no joy.
Thanks for your help but sod the starview it's old and annoying.
Got another one now Euro Vox MAX, so gonna play around on that for a bit. See what happens
